Jessica Bachman was a 2020 Mellon Collaborative Fellow for Reaching New Publics with 

I am a cultural anthropologist who works across the fields of multispecies ethnography, environmental anthropology, the anthropology of religion, South Asian Studies, and political anthropology.
Akanksha Misra received her Ph.D. in Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies from the University of Washington in 2020. Her doctoral dissertation research explored the creation of gendered and sexual citizenship through bodies of teachers and children in schools in India and Turkey.

As the Communications & Events Support Specialist at the Simpson Center, Shelby designs, finalizes, and circulates promotional materials for all upcoming events and programs, maintains the organization's physical and digital media archives, and manages the Simpson Center website.

Sudhir Mahadevan is an Associate Professor in Comparative History of Ideas (with a joint appointment in Cinema and Media Studies). He is the author of A Very Old Machine: the Many Origins of the Cinema in India (SUNY Press, 2015).
