Black Cinema Collective
Year of Funding:
2019/2020
The Black Cinema Collective seeks to explore what is to be learned and what is to be taught by close engagement with Black film. The Collective will examine what African and African diasporic filmmakers have iteratively said and are saying about race, class, gender, and faith. Members will draw on knowledge produced in Black film representation and production to collaboratively construct a dialogic syllabus (hooks, 1994) and to inform their own intellectual/creative/activist praxis.
