Stitching Time: A Making Project
Stitching Time: A Making Project is a historical sewing project to explore the cross-temporal experience of remaking the medieval. The sewing portion of Stitching Time focuses on the sensory experience and skills-based acquisition necessary for making medieval garments. Due to the labor-intensive processes involved (which requires hundreds of hours of research, preparation, construction, and ornamentation), the garment construction component of this dissertation is process-oriented. There are three components to this project: sewn garments, filmed videos, and a digital exhibition.
