Genomics Salon
Year of Funding:
2017/2018
The Genomics Salon graduate research cluster provides an informal forum for discussing subjects of general intellectual interest related to genomics and, more broadly, modern biology, in the spirit of Enlightenment-era French salons. We host hour-long student- and faculty-led discussions every month during the academic year, and we welcome participants from all fields of study, as well as members of the public. We’ve recently discussed topics such as the public understanding of science, medicine and identity, rhetoric of biotechnology, dual-use research of concern, and citizen science.
