7th Triennial Conference of the Association for Latin American Art

The ALAA is a leading organization in the field of Latin American art and the Triennial Conference is one of its three marquee events. It brings together scholars working across pre-contact, colonial, modern, and contemporary Latin American and Latinx art. This year's theme dialogue and methodologies that reclaim Afro-diasporic, Asian-diasporic, and Native subjectivities in the arts of the Americas, as seen through topics that engage with Indigeneity, migration, diaspora, and ancestrality.

The 7th triennial conference, titled Reclamations: The Afro-Asian-Native Turn in the Arts of Latin America, will be hosted by the University of Washington from October 8-11, 2026.
