Isaac Rivera is a Doctoral Student in the Department of Geography at the University of Washington and Council Member at The Fourth World Center for the study of Indigenous Law and Politics.

His research and teaching interests include digital geographies, abolition geography, political geography, critical cartography & GIS, racial capitalism, settler colonialism, politics of knowledge production, social movements, and environmental justice. Isaac conducts research projects ranging from Indigenous self-determination struggles in Nicaragua, India, Ghana, and at Oceti Sakowin, to questions of environmental injustice and development in his home town of Denver, Colorado. His dissertation research investigates the enmeshment of digitality in racial capitalism and settler colonialism, and its impacts for how we understand past, present and future liberations; mediated knowledge production; and Indigenous peoples' self-determination.
