Samantha Thompson is a feminist urban geographer and doctoral candidate in the Department of Geography at the University of Washington, Seattle. Her dissertation explores the role of care in housing through an examination of the history of tenant protections in Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC. She is a member of the Radical Housing Journal editorial collective and the Place + Space Collective. Thompson is the recipient of the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada Doctoral Fellowship, Bridges Center for Labor Studies Martha H. Duggan Fellowship in Caring Labor, and Howard Martin Medal for Extraordinary Achievement in Scholarship, Teaching, and Service.
