Leah Rubinsky is a 2022-2023 Society of Scholars Fellow and a 2022-2023 Digital Humanities Summer Fellow.
She is a doctoral candidate in Comparative Literature at the University of Washington. Her dissertation examines themes of motherhood, memory, and place in contemporary Colombian and Caribbean women's fiction. She is excited to embark on a Chester Fritz-funded research trip to Colombia during the spring quarter of 2022 to undertake archival and ethnographic research. Her work activates traditional, academic forms alongside oral storytelling methodologies to produce engaged, accessible, and public-facing scholarship that includes academic writing, scholarly podcasts, audio archives, and more.
