Curating in Conversation

Under the direction of Kathryn Bunn-Marcuse (Assistant professor, UW School of Art + ArtnHistory + Design, Curator and Director of the BHC at the Burke Museum), this symposium will support cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural  humanities engagement by bringing the Northwest Native Art Gallery’s six co-curating Native artists into conversation and intellectual exchange with faculty and students from the UW School of Art + Art History + Design; American Indian Studies, the new Center for American Indian and Indigenous Studies; the iSchool; the Canadian Studies Department; the UW Museology Program and the the Burke Museum’s Culture department, and practicing curators, community members, and museum professionals from around the region.
