Sunila S. Kale is Professor in the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington. Her research and teaching cross the fields of Indian politics and political economy, energy studies, development studies, capitalism, and yoga studies. Her books include Electrifying India (Stanford 2014), Mapping Power (Oxford 2018), and the Yoga of Power (Columbia forthcoming 2024). As a Summer Fellow, she worked on a book manuscript tentatively titled, The Company Village, about the politics of extractive economies in eastern India.
