Jingsi Shen is a doctoral candidate in Comparative Literature at the University of Washington in Seattle. Her dissertation focuses on the intersection of ecology, affect, and literary forms and examines the relationship between Romantic narratives of catastrophe and the disenchantment of humanist discourses. She is the 2022 summer dissertation fellow of the Society of Scholars at the Walter Chapin Simpson Center for the Humanities and the recipient of the Joff Hanauer for Excellence in Western Civilization Graduate Fellowship in 2019-2020.
