Carole Lee is a 2022-2023 Society of Scholars Fellow.
She is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Washington, Seattle. Her research focuses on institution-level practices and facets of science, including peer review and social disparities in funding and visibility. She has collaborated with the National Institutes of Health and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation to study social disparities in their grant review processes.
Her current project focuses on the bureaucracy and administrative pressures that configure the funding institutions and journals perpetuating structural racism in science.
