Amalie Goul Dueholm is a 2022-2023 Society of Scholars Fellow.
She is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Cinema and Media. Drawing on scholarship from Cinema and Media Studies, Cultural Studies, Feminist Legal Studies, and South Asia Area Studies her dissertation "Legal Imaginaries: State, Citizenship and Violence in Contemporary Hindi Cinema" examines how cinema contributes to our understanding of the law and justice. Amalie’s research has received support from UW’s South Asia Center, and she has been a language fellow with the American Institute of Indian Studies. In summer 2022 she will be doing fieldwork in India funded by a Chester Fritz International Research Fellowship.
