Paul Jason Perez is a PhD candidate with a background in Information Management from the University of Technology Sydney and Library and Information Science from the University of the Philippines Diliman. His research interests include community archives, archives and social justice, minimal technology infrastructures, and digital libraries.

Perez is a recipient of the 2026 Digital Humanities Summer Fellowship for the project, "Digital Archive of Philippine Transnational Activism." This project will develop a digital archive that brings together materials from Philippine human rights organizations and Filipina/x/o activist groups in the United States. Working closely with Karapatan, it explores how activists preserve photographs, protest materials, and records under conditions shaped by political repression, migration, and climate vulnerability. The project uses digital tools to support ethical, community-controlled memory work and to illuminate the transnational histories of Philippine activism.
