Adam Romero is an Associate Professor of Science, Technology & Society in the Department of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences at UW Bothell. He is Faculty Coordinator for the Major and Minor in Science, Technology & Society.

Romero is a 2026-2027 Society of Scholars fellow for his new book project Industrial Chemicals and the Problem of Too Much Food (1945-1985). He examines the relationship between the influx of agrochemicals to American farms and problems that result from growing too much food and fiber. The book centers the experience of the American farmer to tell the story of how industrial and agricultural policy created the conditions in which the appropriate economic response for farmers to overproduction was to turn to more chemicals to grow ever more.
