Climate Ethics, Environmental Justice, and Wind Energy

Emphasizing intergenerational equity, climate ethics suggests that the development of wind energy to reduce carbon emissions is morally justified, perhaps even imperative; highlighting the inequitable burdens that the construction of large wind farms places on some contemporary communities, an environmental justice frame questions the ethics of utility-scale wind development. 

In this project, we aim to reconcile these conflicting perspectives, bringing together ideas from climate ethics, environmental justice, organizational sociology, and business ethics to create a framework for the ethical pursuit of renewable energy.
