Summer Institute in the Arts & Humanities

Summer Institute
in the Arts & Humanities

Created in collaboration by the UW’s Undergraduate Research Program and the Simpson Center, the Summer Institute in the Arts & Humanities provides twenty competitively-selected undergraduates an intensive opportunity to engage in primary interdisciplinary research. Participating students receive scholarship support and 12 credits upon completion of the program.

The Summer Institute also offers four faculty (and/or graduate student) instructors a unique collaborative, crossdisciplinary research and teaching development opportunity.  Small seminar and tutorial sessions support mutual learning among faculty and students and provide undergraduates with the intensive training and environment they need to pursue individual and collaborative research of independent design.
