Simpson Center Meets Digital Humanities Fundraising Goal!

The Simpson Center has met its goal of matching the National Endowment for the Humanities Challenge Grant in support of the digital humanities! Thanks to our donors, we have raised $1.875 million since fundraising began in 2009!

Bundled with $625,000 from the NEH, these funds—a sum total of$2.5 million—will endow the Digital Humanities Commons, an annual summer fellowship program for faculty and graduate students that will launch Summer 2014. The Center is already at work renovating three offices into a 375 square-foot hybrid space that will become part digital scholarship lab and part scholarly discussion space. Applications for the 2014 Digital Humanities Commons will be invited next fall.
